Math Games II
Elementary and Middle School (Ages 10-13)
In Math Games II, students will build their number sense with numbers up to 1,000 and beyond. We will explore the four operations, including 2-digit addition and subtraction, and beginning multiplication and division. Students will play board games, card games, and dice games to practice and expand upon their math skills. Using blocks, coins, geoboards, and other manipulatives, students will learn various strategies for combining and separating numbers. We’ll bring lots of games home for practice with families and friends as well.
Course Objectives: Students will expand their strategies for adding, subtracting, and manipulating numbers in various ways. With partners and small groups, students will focus on turn-taking, sportsmanship, and communication.
