Latin (Private Instruction)
Middle School, High School, and Adult (Ages 12-18+)
The Study of Latin assists students with English grammar and vocabulary, which is useful for everyday communication as well as preparing for standardized tests. The Cambridge Latin Course has two major objectives: 1. To teach comprehension of the Latin language through practice in reading it; 2. To develop, through these readings, the students’ understanding of the social and political history of the Romans. By integrating culture with language, the Course teaches the skills of reading, comprehension, and critical appreciation. Weekly homework assignments will be given to be completed outside of class.
Students will build proficiency in Latin and English grammar and vocabulary, and learn about life in the Roman empire.
