Kristin Stephens

Kristin has her Master of Science degree in Family Financial Planning, is an Accredited Financial Counselor, and a Certified Educator in Personal Finance. She has taught numerous classes and workshops on personal finance to all ages  and has worked professionally in financial counseling and nonprofit management. She currently works in higher education as a faculty member in business management, leadership, and ethics.

Kristin is an experienced homeschool mom who taught previously at HomeConnection, a parent-partnership program in Washington state, where she taught numerous project-based classes in STEAM, as well as coached their FIRST Lego League Robotics team and TedEd club, and coordinated dozens of field trips each year. She is also the founder and Executive Director of Tidewater LEAD, a nonprofit dedicated to leadership development for teens.

She lived in Japan for six years and enjoys adventure travel (she has trekked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, climbed Mount Fuji twice, explored Cambodia’s Angkor ruins, and trekked the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage trail), attending musicals, reading, photography,  building Lego kits, and hiking.  Fun fact: she was on the equestrian team in college and used to be a professional horseback riding instructor!
