Techniques in Jewelry Making and Metalsmithing

Middle School and High School (Ages 10-18)

Students will practice basic jewelry/accessory making and metalsmithing techniques (cold connections), while also learning about the various materials and tools used in this field/art. Students will also learn about wire wrapping, knot tying, various material properties, tools, adhesives, hammering/cold hardening, & much more, all while using those fine motor skills. This class consists of multiple projects each month, which may include jewelry, accessories, and even decorations for the home/garden.

Previous years’ projects have included key chains, chain mail samples, bookmarks, pins/brooches, holiday tree ornaments, wall/garden décor, windchime, etc.
