Algebraic Concepts

High School (Ages 14-18)

This course is designed to develop our students’ skills in Algebraic concepts, building confidence, understanding & mastery of Algebra. Students will be given a syllabus with weekly assignments and unit test dates. Homework will be corrected and discussed in class, followed by a lesson for new material. It is important to keep up with assignments. Math is a subject that builds new skills on previous lesson work. This class can be taken for high school credit; however, it is optional. Tutoring for this class may also be available.

Course Objectives: Students who follow the coursework schedule and attend class on a regular basis will have exposure to basic algebraic concepts. Topics include algebraic expressions, solving equations & inequalities, functions & graphing (linear/non-linear, exponential, quadratic, radical, rational & absolute value), polynomials/factoring, real and irrational numbers, and data analysis.
