How to Think Like a Futurist

This course will teach students how to think like a futurist. Students will learn how to conduct research, determine what constitutes a reliable source, and how to synthesize their findings. The Delphi Method will be taught as a framework for future scenario construction. The course will include instruction, discussion, and time for hands-on work evaluating their findings and writing their scenarios.

Students should gain valuable research skills, as well as necessary skills to evaluate the reliability of sources. They will also learn a new tool used in long term strategic planning. Scenario construction should also aid in creative writing and logical thinking.
