Early Literacy and Kindergarten Skills

This course is focused on early childhood skills at the Pre-K/Kindergarten level, with a focus on phonemic awareness and beginning literacy skills.

Each week, students will gather for circle time, where we will practice using the calendar, discuss seasons and weather, and read a selection of modern children’s literature. We will then do a hands-on activity that focuses on early literacy skills, such as phonemic awareness, alphabet identification, handwriting/fine motor skills, and storytelling.
