Creative Movement

Creative Movement

Preschool (Ages 3-5)

Instructor: Lauren Babb

This class will introduce students to the basic concepts of rhythm and movement using creative games that expand their individual creativity. We will blend the magic of imagination with movement and the underlying principles of dance. With imaginations fully engaged, dancers use scarves, beanbags, ribbons, lummi sticks, and more as they are introduced to dance elements and movement fundamentals.

This class will use basic ballet techniques in the first semester as a foundation for the class.  Second semester, the class will introduce tumbling skills to further the development of locomotor skills such as skipping, leaping, and jumping.  Children will learn spatial awareness, listening skills, gross motor skills, rhythm and balance, coordination, confidence, and self-control.
