American Government
High School (Ages 14-18)
This course is a study of the structure & functions of American national government; political participation & behavior, & policy on the national, state, and local levels.
The topics covered in this high school US government course are designed to prepare students to be competent citizens who understand, & are capable of participating in the political processes of the nation. Additionally, students should practice the skills needed to think critically, weigh evidence, make informed decisions, & participate politically.
Other topics may include: The US Constitution, Branches of Government (Legislative, Executive & Judicial), Civil Liberties/Rights, Citizenship, Elections, Economy, and Comparative Political Systems.
